AkPIRG Releases Results
of
VECO Survey of ALL Legislators

Two Representatives Explain
Their Visits to Baranof's Room 604

The Alaska Public Interest Research Group (AkPIRG) released the results of its poll of all 60 Alaska legislators at a news conference on Monday, October 15th.

The survey was an attempt to ascertain past involvement with VECO, the former oil field services company whose executives have pleaded guilty to a variety of charges in a legislative corruption probe. Of the legislators who completed the survey, only two representatives - Rep. John Harris and Rep. Bob Lynn - answered yes to meeting in Room 604 with VECO officials. No one answered yes to the VECO poll question.
