Toxic-Free Children: Toxic Toys
AkPIRG is working with Alaska Community Action on Toxics (ACAT), a statewide environmental health and justice organization driven by a core belief in environmental justice. AkPIRG and ACAT’s joint initiative aims to raise awareness about toxic consumer products, particularly flame-retardant chemicals marketed towards children. This is part of ACAT’s Toxic-Free Children movement, which will build a strong coalition of business owners and community members to help write a municipal ordinance banning flame-retardant chemicals.
