Alyssa was born in the Philippines, then grew up in New Mexico and Oklahoma. She graduated from the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics and has a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Notre Dame, as well as a J.D. and certificate in Public Interest Law with a civil rights focus from Lewis & Clark Law School.

Alyssa practiced general and family law in Michigan, then found her way to representing individuals who had experienced police brutality and misconduct. With AKPIRG, Alyssa utilizes her knowledge and experience with systemic inequities to analyze energy developments and advance public interests in research, policy, regulatory, and legislative matters.
