Erin Willahan was born and raised in Anchorage within Dena'ina Ełnena (Dena'ina Lands). She holds a B.A. in International Studies and Humanities from the University of Oregon and a joint M.A. in Human Rights Policy and Practice from the University of Gothenburg, Deusto University, and the University of Roehampton. Erin previously worked with the Division of Elections Language Assistance program. She is excited to continue to expand equitable language access in Alaska and promote ethical translation practices through her role with AKPIRG. In her free time, Erin is the Executive Director of Out North, a local arts organization, and is known to enjoy karaoke, magical realism, and taking the long way home.
